In astrology, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are considered generational planets, because they take years to pass through a single Zodiac Sign. In a natal chart, the House position and aspects of these outer planets will carry more weight than their Signs, although Sign matters too! Additionally, the transits of these planets can bring chaos, because what we have to deal with can seem beyond our control or comprehension.
Uranus in Astrology – Uranus Transits
I consider Uranus to be the ruler of Aquarius; I know some people still believe that Saturn should be assigned to Aquarius. To me, Uranus represents sudden and shocking events, and outlandish ideas. Essentially, I relate anything that moves very fast (like light, electronic messages, email, text, etc.) to Uranus. Electricity and electronic devices can also be attributed to Uranus. Uranus-related things usually concern society and civilization. Rebellious groups, political groups and protests can also be considered Uranian in nature.
Uranus is in Aries as I write this. Numerous political upheavals began when Uranus entered Aries. Uranus in Aries is about redefining the individual's role in society, demanding more freedom for the individual. Darker side of Uranus in Aries: unruly and undisciplined behavior. Uranus transits can indicate invention of new ways of communication, but they can also bring some form of sudden destruction. I associate earthquakes with Uranus.
Neptune in Astrology – Neptune Transits
In astrology, Neptune is our ideals and inspiration. Neptune dissolves boundaries so some type of fusion can occur, making synergy possible. On a darker side, Neptune can indicate illusions and delusions, where we lose sense of reality. I associate hallucinations and numbing agents (like numbing drugs) with Neptune. Neptune can sensitize us to an almost painful degree, so it can be tempting to try to escape that sensitivity. Neptune transits can signify disintegration of limits, restrictions and boundaries, which are not always good. Neptune transits can be fantastic and/or frightening; it all depends on many variables, like context and ability to handle Neptunian vibrations. During challenging transits of Neptune, it's important to remain grounded. Otherwise, Neptune's transit can feel like a blurry ride of constant tricks and loss.
Pluto in Astrology – Pluto Transits
In astrology, Pluto represents instincts, lust for life and the will to live. Pluto can also be how we “fight” for survival. Pluto's transits can bring destruction, obsession and emotional turmoil. During Pluto's transits, we have to be able to trust our emotions and be able to safely process intense emotional experiences; we have to be willing to acquire internal resources. Otherwise, it can feel like sanity is being sucked out of us.
It's important to remember that planets, Signs and aspects are all neutral; how we react, plan and function during difficult transits is totally up to us.
